The Renewable Jungle

In January 2012, DRA released The Renewable Jungle, a guide designed to aid the public, potential renewable developers and policymakers in understanding the variety of renewable energy generation programs that California has created in the The Renewable Junglequest to achieve its climate change objectives.

The Renewable Jungle can inform the public about and assist developers in navigating California’s extensive and complex renewable procurement policies and programs and identify programs with overlapping goals and market segments.  The guide is also intended to inform policymakers of the opportunities and challenges presented by the robust field of programs.

The guide includes background and fact sheets on each renewable procurement program and delineates which programs count toward California’s Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) requirement.  This information will also help developers make educated decisions on project viability.
